Graduation Regalia Pricing as follows:
1) How many people can we invite to graduation?
As many as you like, there are no tickets and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. We've never run out of seats.
2) Must we attend the UNLV Commencement Ceremony?
Please plan on attending both the law school convocation and the University Commencement. Your attendance at both events helps to ensure later classes will be able to hold a separate ceremony.
3) What should we wear for the Law School Convocation day?
Graduates wear gowns and cords (cords are optional). No tam or hood is worn for the convocation. Keep in mind you will be walking across the stage, so for the men please wear shirt, tie, long pants and dress shoes. Women can wear either pants or dresses with dress shoes. In other words, no shorts or flip flops!
4) How long is the Law School Convocation?
The convocation usually lasts about two hours, including the reception, which follows the ceremony.
5) Do we have to buy cords if we are in a particular student organization? Where can we get graduation cords?
Cords are optional but you may choose to purchase Graduation Cords of designated colors to represent the organizations you have been a part of during your time at law school. Cords cost $5 per cord. (Most organizations have two colors so the total charge will be $10). Graduates who want to purchase cords need to email Amanda Stevens, firstname.lastname@example.org before April 3, 2014. The Graduation Committee will then order the cords.
Once the cords have arrived, you will be notified by email and you can arrange to pick up and pay for your cords from the SBA. For further questions please contact the graduation committee.
6) Where do we meet on the day of Convocation?
Before you walk down the aisle at Artemus W. Ham Hall, you will meet at Judy Bayley Theater (across from Artemus W. Ham Hall). This is where you will fill out reader cards, take a class picture and line up.
7) Where can our guests park for Convocation at Artemus W. Ham Hall?
Guests are allowed to park free and without risk of being ticketed in the parking garage off of Cottage Grove. Floors 2 - 6 of the garage will be available for use. There will be staff to direct the guests to park.
